Common questions
Do I need an AI API key?
Only for the AI features in Pro and Agency. Scanning, scores, graphs, the inspectors, Text Match, pillars, SEO Titles and the Report all work without one.
What does the AI cost?
You pay OpenAI or Anthropic directly, on your own key. With an economical model a call costs a fraction of a cent — a month of normal use is typically a few cents. A strong model for the few big analyses adds a couple of cents each. Clusterlane shows calls and estimated cost per feature and per model, and saved results are shown again for free.
Which AI providers and models are supported?
OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini, gpt-4o) and Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 5, Opus 5.5). You choose an everyday model for the many short calls and, if you like, a stronger analysis model for site, cluster and article analyses.
What is sent to the AI provider?
Only what the task needs — article titles, the start of the article text and its headings, cluster names and numbers — and only when someone clicks an AI button. It goes from your server straight to the provider on your key; Clusterlane’s own servers never see your content or your key.
Does Clusterlane change my content by itself?
No. Links, SEO fields and pillars change only when you click Apply or choose them — and links and SEO fields can be undone for 30 minutes. The first time Clusterlane changes an SEO title or description, the original is kept, so Restore original brings it back at any time.
Does it work with my SEO plugin?
Clusterlane reads the SEO title and meta description from Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, All in One SEO or The SEO Framework — or from your own or ACF fields. AI suggestions are written back only to your own fields; with an SEO plugin they are ready to copy.
Does it work with Elementor?
Yes, in Pro and Agency: links are written into Elementor’s Text Editor widgets, with a backup of the previous content. Other page builders are detected and Clusterlane explains that it won’t write there.
What counts as a site?
Each WordPress site where you activate Clusterlane Pro. Pro covers one, Pro 5 five and Agency 25 — deactivate it on one site to use the license on another. The free version has no limit.
Is this a subscription?
Pro, Pro 5 and Agency are billed yearly. If you stop renewing, the plugin keeps working as the free version — your data and settings stay.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Pro, Pro 5 and Agency come with a 14-day money-back guarantee: if Clusterlane isn’t right for you, ask within 14 days of your purchase and you get a full refund. Payments and refunds are handled by Freemius, our reseller.
How do I get help?
Pro and Agency customers get support by email at support@clusterlane.app. Attach the system report from Help → Admin & Support in the plugin — it shows your setup at a glance and contains no keys or passwords. For the free version, use the plugin’s support forum on WordPress.org.
